(At around 2:40…)

Roll20 won “Best Software” at the RPG’s industry awards, the ENnies.

As it was our second consecutive win, we wanted to use the moment to say, “Hey, RPG companies… maybe you should work with us?”

The awards were presented as part of Gen Con, and the whole weekend was pretty cool. Roll20’s panel went fabulously, and I hosted a comics panel with a bunch of really talented fellows. That all said, I have like two more days to get over this cough the convention gave me so I can turn around and do it all again at PAX Prime

Some choice panels from early Howard the Duck.

Dylan Todd, Josh Trujillo, and I started a book club to pour through the over 13,000 issues on Marvel Comics Unlimited, and the early adventures of the primary purveyor of Quack Fu were our first reading assignment.

To join in the fun, holler at us on Twitter.

phoning-it-in:

Another new clip from Star Wars: Rebels. Pretty sure I’m gonna have to get a Chopper figure.

This keeps looking more dope.

roll20:

GEN CON is fast approaching (August 14-17), and we’ll be there!

On Friday all three developers will be running a panel about Online Tabletop Gaming via Roll20. We’ll be spending two full hours talking with attendees about how to best use Roll20, and what we hope to do with the platform in the coming months. This panel was a lot of fun last year, and we’re excited to be doing it again!

Worth mentioning that Friday night we’re expecting to attend the ENnies, and enjoy company! Win or lose, we’ll no doubt be heading out into the night afterwards to toast to our efforts.

Saturday Nolan will be hosting “From the Table to the Panel: How RPG’s Influence Comics.” He’ll be talking about his experiences from the vantage point of writing House of ORR and be joined by an all-star list of fantasy roleplaying comics creators including Scott Kurtz of Table Titans, Ryan Sohmer of Looking for Group, and Brian Patterson of d20monkey. This panel was named one of the hottest free events of the weekend by the organizers of Gen Con, and we’re really excited about it.

Roll20’s “Online Tabletop Gaming” panel has SOLD OUT.

But I could for sure use some signal boost on my comics panel!

Just a quick note to let you know that all proceeds from the digital comic — now available for purchase on Gumroad – are being donated to The Hero Initiative, a charity that helps comics creators in financial need. It’s a good cause and we thank you for your support in this. So if you’ve already bought the comic, thank you, sincerely. If you haven’t here’s a good reason to give it a shot.

You can’t have a future without a past.

roll20:

ONLY TWO MORE DAYS TO VOTE!

We’ve been nominated for an ENnie for Best Software, to be handed out next month at Gen Con. Being honored in this way helps us continue to be seen as an important part of the roleplaying game industry, and a chance at winning only increases that impact.

Please take a moment to cast a vote for us!

Also, check out this recent interview about our nomination

Thank you so much for any signal boost you can spare!

LAST DAY.

Thanks to those who vote!

Webcomic recs: House of Orr

This webcomic is amazing. That’s all there really is to say on the matter.

But seriously. There’s a lot to say about it, let me tell you. There’s plenty to say about it, let me tell you. House of Orr is a webcomic written by Nolan T. Jones and illustrated by Victoria Grace Elliott. It updates every other Friday, and details the adventures of two new initiates to the guild known as The House of Orr. Thus begins their journey through the world of magic, mystery and guild politics.

Thanks for recommending House of ORR!
